Downhill watch full length film. Over the last couple of winters I've been riding some Welsh dh tracks with a friend and they are much steeper and slippery than I'm used too. It's a real eye opener. My advice is rather than hang too far back, which keeps your arms too straight, get lower and just a bit behind your seat. Use your hips to help steer and keep off your front brake unless you really have to use it. Keep at it, you'll only get better by riding the things you aren't good at.

The film plays out like a cinematic adaptation of one of those posts, bringing a marital conflict under the microscope and inviting everyone around them, us included, to cast judgment on who went wrong where. In a final, meta joke, cooked up by its marketing team, Downhill hits theaters this Valentine's Day. Ferrell and Louis-Dreyfus play Pete and Billie, an American couple on an Austrian ski vacation with their two adolescent sons. From the opening moments, it's possible to see the hairline cracks in this picture-perfect family portrait. Irritations flare up around the language barrier, a hectic hotel welcome, or Pete's iPhone addiction. But then disaster strikes, and those fissures become gaps, and then chasms as one half of the couple digs deeper and deeper into denial. The family is spared serious tragedy, but Mom and Dad are left with a more nebulous uneasiness that threatens every assumption they'd had about themselves, each other, and the relationship they've built together over many years. Downhill is faithful enough to its source material that fans of the original may find it somewhat superfluous. It comes across as a lesser version of Force Majeure for American audiences who simply cannot get over that one-inch-tall barrier of subtitles — down to a very entertaining turn by Kristofer Hivju, this time as an indifferent resort manager. Ferrell, though the movie's biggest commercial draw, turns out to be one of its weaker elements. He's either miscast or misdirected in a role that requires more emotional complexity than he delivers here. He's part and parcel with the film's tonal inconsistency, which veers from broad comedy (Miranda Otto as an overbearing hostess is very funny, but seems like she belongs in a different movie) to bittersweet catharsis. On the whole, though, "not quite as good as Force Majeure " turns out to still be pretty good. Louis-Dreyfus is unsurprisingly tremendous, navigating the film's ups and downs more adeptly than her co-star does, and directors Nat Faxon and Jim Rash (who also wrote the screenplay with Jesse Armstrong) treat both Billie and Pete with clear-eyed empathy. Then, just as the premise threatens to go stale, a younger couple, played by Zach Woods and Zoë Chao, enters the picture to play audience surrogates. If Downhill is a feature-length AITA post, Zach and Rosie are the commenters, arguing over who's in the right and who's in the wrong and revealing as much about themselves in the process. Like in the best AITA posts, there's the verdict that looks right at a first glance, and the one that emerges once a clearer picture emerges. Marriage Story this isn't; Downhill has a pretty clear stance on who screwed up in this situation. But the fun — if you can call squirming with discomfort fun — lies in seeing how far this domestic dispute can deteriorate, and the satisfaction — if you can call tearing up with vicarious frustration satisfying — in seeing the wronged party get validation and maybe a tiny bit of revenge. The cleverness of Downhill 's conceit is how very ordinary the catastrophe is that shakes this couple to the core. It's an examination of heterosexual marriage that finds nothing very positive about it, and warns even those in seemingly happy couplings that a moment of weakness could destroy all that. In a final, meta joke, cooked up by its marketing team, Downhill hits theaters this Valentine's Day.

I am not much of a 'sequel' guy, but obtained free tickets by chance through the local college station.
The gang is again piecemeal in a video game and new characters and family members are added too. I would say that anyone who enjoyed the prequel will also like the sequel. I am not a Rock fan in anyway so I suppose given that it is an endorsement of the film from me!
Karen Gillan (Martha) is again hot in this film. She rocks her hard body and legs to fantastic effect. I really should make a point of seeing her in more movies.

This was a fun time. The cast and performances are both very good here. It's a fun popcorn movie - although, there are some "shocks" and somewhat violent deaths throughout which I found jarring and a strange tone choice. However, this is a great bunch of likable comedy actors/young actors being given the freedom to have fun in these roles. There are also some exciting set-pieces and creative vfx. It was a wise choice to bring back the entire cast too, with some new additions. I'd recommend this movie to anyone that wants to see a fun action-packed video game/blockbuster with likable and entertaining actors. But beware of the jump scares and "scary" animals if you're sensitive to that sort of thing.

Aus diesem Grund hatte er sich heimlich die alte Spielkonsole besorgt, und notdürftig zusammengeflickt. Am Vorabend des geplanten Treffen startet er allein die Konsole im Keller des Wohnhaus seiner Eltern. Nachdem Spencer nicht zum vereinbarten Treffen seiner Freunde auftaucht, und auch nicht auf Textnachrichten oder Anrufe reagiert, klingeln sie bei Spencers Eltern. Sein Opa Eddie lässt die drei herein, Eddie hat gerade Besuch von dessen Ex-Geschäftspartner Milo, der eine Aussprache wünscht. Bald entdecken Bethany, Martha und Fridge die eingeschaltete Konsole, daneben Spencers Jacke und Handy, und es wird klar, dass Spencer nach Jumanji zurückgekehrt ist. Nur Martha "behielt" ihren Avatar Ruby Roundhouse. Von Spencer ist zunächst nichts zu sehen, und es gibt keinen Hinweis, in welchem Avatar Spencer in das Spiel eingetreten ist. Durch den Charakterwechsel kommt es schnell zu diversen gefährlichen Situationen, welche häufig durch das vorschnelle Handeln von Spencers Opa als Bravestone, sowie Eddie und Milos Unerfahrenheit mit Videospielen im Allgemeinen zustande kommen, und die Charaktere verlieren ihre Spielleben schneller, als ihnen lieb ist. Zudem haben sich die Spezialfähigkeiten der Avatare leicht verändert. Wie im ersten Teil treffen die Charaktere zunächst auf den NSC Nigel Billingsley, der ihnen ihre neue Mission erklärt, und gleich vorausschickt, dass der Schwierigkeitsgrad gesteigert wurde, und nicht alle Spieler diese Mission überleben werden. Statt in einem Dschungel werden die Charaktere nun in einer Wüste ausgesetzt. Jürgen der Brutale hat ein magisches Amulett, das „Falkenherz“, gestohlen, und nun gilt es, ihm und seinen Schergen dieses wieder abzujagen, und den rechtmäßigen Besitzern zurückzugeben, da Jumanji sonst dem Untergang geweiht ist. Nach einer Reihe von Abenteuern schaffen es die Spieler, zu einander zu finden: Spencer steckt im Avatar von Ming, einer gewieften Fassadenkletterin und Taschendiebin, der es schon beinahe gelungen wäre, das "Falkenherz" an sich zu bringen, wenn Bravestone (Eddie) nicht in falschen Moment dazwischengefunkt hätte. Overall the movie is pretty good. Personally I found it to be quite funny, but since the humor is very basic it got tiring after a while. Very good acting (Kevin Hart surprised me) of course excellent production and the CGI didn't feel bad at all. The plot is very basic and what happens in the movie is very predictable. I also felt like the "villain" was a weak character, for it was not interesting nor slightly developed. In general the movie has its ups and downs, but it is exactly what I was expecting. It doesn't surprise but it doesn't let down. Decent film.

"Une soeur" or "A Sister" is a Belgian French-language live action short film that premiered back in 2018 and was nominated at the 2020 Academy Awards almost 1.5 years later. The director is Delphine Girard, apparently still a relatively young filmmaker, and her effort here makes me curious about what we can expect from her once she makes the transition to full feature films. I got to watch all the five nominated live action short films last night before the Oscar ceremony and this one here was the first they showed and also my favorite from the bunch. At approximately 17 minutes, it as also the shortest from the nominees I believe, but the outcome here is a perfect example of how quantity does not equal quality because the other four are inferior, some even drastically. Shame this one probably never really had a chance to take home the prize. But that does not make it worse or anything. When and after watching, I still thought it was merely good, but after thinking a bit about it, I'd say it is even great and one of the finest short movies from its year and also deserving of the Oscar win. This partially has to do with lead actress Veerle Baetens here, who plays an emergency phone hotline operator. I already thought she was amazing on "The Broken Cicle Breakdown" wow... can't believe this one is already almost a decade old. so I recognized her immediately. This film reminded me of a Danish film from not too long ago that was also fairly close to being nominated for an Oscar, but that was a full feature film, so there were plot twwists and everything. This one here is just very focused and essential story-telling that almost feels a bit like a documentary from a police investigation. Fittingly, I read an article not too long ago about a case where a woman called such a hotline to report a case of domestic violence I think and that she (or somebody close to her) is in danger, but she could not speak freely, so she disguised her call as if she was calling to order a pizza. The hotline operator understood and realized it is not a prank and managed to help her to become hero of the day.
This film is at least slightly similar to that but it as made way before the event I just mentioned (became public) so it did not inspire this film. I think the moment you realize what's going on, namely when you find out that the hotline operator just received the call you saw before that from the perspective of the woman in the car, you are immediately in the middle of this film. And you won't leave until it is over. It is that good and had me on the edge of my seat more than most full feature movies. Of course, you will need subtitles unless you are fluent in French, but this should not keep you from watching. It is really essential that you understand all the dialogues. I also liked how they elaborated on what happened before that, probably that the woman was abused sexually and then abducted. You would not know how it ends, if there is a big car chase scene, the guy loses it and maybe kills his victim and/or himself or whatever else could happen, but Girard took the most likely and most realistic way out without any spectacular final sequence. Or I should say any spectacular showy sequence because the moment the police stops them, he gets out of the car and surrenders. Felt very authentic and realistic. So did everything else about the end, for example how she asks the woman on the phone if she is supposed to step out of the vehicle now as well. She trusted her to make the right decision for her the way she did before that by basically saving her. And at the very end, when Baetens' character asked for her name, we find out how anonymous this job really is and how you have to deliver acts that are much bigger than a simple "hello my name is. and still it stays a really lonely profession. The attention to detail in this film is nice too. Just one example how she steps away from the noise at her workplace when she is about to talk to the guy. She definitely is a pro knowing what needed to be done to do her best to save a life. There is no guarantee of course.
